The Marshalltown Association Academy Commune is investigating a photo area bristles girls are pictured in blackface, said Superintendent Theron Schutte.
The picture, which was acquaint on amusing media, shows the girls cutting atramentous face acrylic and atramentous clothing.
"We accede our cultural and ancestral assortment to be one of our greatest strengths in Marshalltown and it's abundantly atramentous that addition in our community, regardless of what their intentions were, would anticipate it’s appropriate," Schutte said.
Three of the girls in the photo appear Marshalltown Aerial School, while addition babe attends the district's average school. The fifth girl is from addition academy district, Schutte said.
The girls from Marshalltown are still accessory school, admitting Schutte said not all of them anon alternate afterward Halloween.
The commune has talked with several of the girls and will abide to allege with them and their parents, Schutte said. They were not on academy area or at a academy accident back the account was taken, Schutte said.
Student leaders in the commune are planning to altercate assortment and how to ability out to the accepted apprentice population.

Some of the girls and their ancestors members issued a account to the Marshalltown Times-Republican saying "we're sorry" for the incident. None were articular by the paper.
One of the bristles said: “When I talked to the school, they put it in added peoples’ perspective, and again I saw how bad it looked … we didn’t apperceive what blackface was.”
