SPENCER — When Rim Abdulrub came to North Rowan Aerial Academy her apprentice year, she said she was shy and quiet. Her ancestors confused from Yemen in December 2012, to chase her dad’s work, and a ages later, Rim found herself enrolled in an American aerial school.

Everything was altered from her home, she recalls. The way bodies talked, the dress code, the food. And the language.
